blake's got a new face.

Joshua Radin,

i think i love you.

especially when you sing No Envy, No Fear.
and that's a neat photo yer in.

-big D.

do you think it's harder for birds to fly or walk? is walking just a nuisance to them like running is to us?

i saw some weird birds today.

they. are madly in love.

love affair.

"For me, the reading of the scriptures is not the pursuit of scholarship. Rather it is a love affair with the word of the Lord and that of His prophets. They contain so much for each of us."
-President Gordon B. Hinckley

Goal for this year? Have a love affair with the scriptures. Yes please.

and all i could say was hello.

sam, tell me what was so special about your wife.
well how long is your program.

{i love Meg Ryan.}
{i love this movie.}

Sam...it's nice to meet you.

it was like...magic.

sundrenched world.

yesterday. Jameson and i wandered into Gray Whale, as i do.
we searched the old record boxes, as we do.
and found...
Rick Springfield and TOTO for two dollars.
now just for that record player...
one day.

"i like yer oxfords" "thanks"

how much do i hate being back at school?
that's a 6.4

pretty sure i am yet to be on time to a class.

Photography with Bartholomew:
i already love this class.
we watched a video on the revolution of photography.
i learned and loved,
this here, ladies and gentlemen, is The Brownie.
remember when we found it at Carrie's and took it to the woods?
we learned that The Brownie was the first camera to hit the stores.
that's some history right there.
i never much thought about how cool photography is till i watched that video.

and we were born at the wrong time, that's all i know.
they're called oxfords.
i wish i could find a box full of old newspapers from the 1920's.
i wish.

it's your birfday!

Spencer is 18 today.
He has a way of making everything the best ever.
and i love that.
so if you are in need of a cami secret or any other infomerical products, Spence is your man.

yes we did go to She & Him

lovely lovely

i finished that book.

i mostly loved it. yes, i loved it. but i hated it, i really hated it.

anyway, don't read on if you don't want spoilers.

i hated how the Capitol hijacked Peeta, ahh i hated that.
it almost ruined the book for me.
he should've been there with Katniss being his normal self, leading the rebellion.
the whole book i couldn't get over that.
but for those few moments when he would remember how much he cared about Katniss i was happy.
like when he remembered her favorite soup.
at least they end up together and he slowly becomes normal again.
Gale slowly became more and more annoying to me, him and his lust for spilling blood.
when Finnick died i cried. and Boggs, i liked him.
did a lot of the book seem confusing to anyone else?
and i really hated how Katniss went into such hardcore depression after Prim died and after shooting President Coin.
when she turned her bow and shot Coin...WHOOA!
Prim dying was the worst though, she was so innocent.
it's like when Fred dies in The Deathly Hallows.
all in all i was dissapointed at a lot of things, but it all goes together in the end. mostly.
i still liked it though, it's one of those things you just have to like.

my mind will continue to be consumed with that book and fictional characters for the rest of the day. trying to clear up any of the confusion, most likely start reading the whole series over again. the first two were so dang good, but Mockingjay was pretty good. very intense.

on a scale of one to ten.
The Hunger Games: 10
Catching Fire: 8.5
Mockingjay: 5 or 6

k see ya.

over it over again.

She & Him.
these two. these two are too cool.
last night confirmed everything i've ever thought of Zooey.
she is too cool.
obviously she was wearing the coolest dress with tights.
her hair.
her with that tamborine.
so neat to see the source to the background voices.
when they played Lingering Still and she did that keyboard solo.
she has kissed Joseph Gordon-Levitt.
unfortunately we didn't see much of M. Ward, i wish i could've heard his voice a little more.
he's definitely classy though.
her little dances.
i'm so glad we all have the biggest girl crush on her.
despite the surrounding drugs, smoke, sweat, heat, millions of people, fweaks and beer.

it was totally worth it.
pictures to come soon.

ps. Mockingjay:
i'm still reading it, i decided to not read it in one day like the first two.
it's the last one and i want it to last.
i'm almost done and i can't decide how i feel about it.
so far i've been real mad most the time, so we'll see...

deep breaths

you have done this 12 times before.

there will be satisfaction beyond belief once i get my hands on my own copy of Mockingjay.

my feelings:
nervousness. (what if she doesn't choose Peeta? what if Peeta is hurt!?)

my physical needs:
just my eyeballs to read.

my thoughts:
i hate the capitol.
i love Peeta. (come on, we hardly know Gale.)
Katniss, is a cool name.

i have been more than ready for months.
let the Hunger Games begin.

i like when you don't know anyone at a pool.

this pleasure allows you and your big D's to dobe around the pool for a couple hours with yer goggles on.
it's like i'm ten years old again.
thank you Scera Shell.

some nonsense:
Mockingjay in T minus three days.
get excited.
Heath Ledger tonight, i'm hoping.
She & Him next Thursday: check.

we watched a bit of You've Got Mail last night:
"Sometimes I wonder about my life. I lead a small life. Well, not small, but circumscribed. And sometimes I wonder, do I do it because I like it, or because I haven't been brave? So much of what I see reminds me of something I read in a book, when shouldn't it be the other way around?"

dream pants.

can i just say?

That i love these boys with my whole heart.
and that i never got to have brothers but these guys are close enough.
and when we hang out just the three of us i get to act like i'm seven again.
and saying the word wedgie is SO funny.

That white heads are awfuly nasty.
and they are ment to be popped.
boys tank tops are also awfuly nasty.
avoid both if possible.

That Band of Horses is the best.
no really. listen to this song.
no one's gonna love you.
it gives me chills.

That i am afraid of the fact that i am a senior.
and that i miss the old seniors bad.
very bad.
expecially at football games.

That i have three sisters.
but really, i have five.
if you consider how much time i spend with rory and lorelai.
we might as well be sisters.

That country music is good for you.
it's like hot chocolate or mashed potatoes.
makes you feel good.
(most of it)

That on a scale of 1 to 10 this summer was an 8.
more good than bad.
for sure.

That rating things on a scale of 1 to 10 is fun.
school is going to be a 6.5.
charley st. cloud was a 0.
dobe is a 10.

That today is the last saturday of summer.
better be good.

but whatever man.

maybe one day. maybe not.

today, Jessie blogged about food. this made me think of Zupa's Hawaiian Barbeque Chicken panini. i could just about taste it in my mouth around one in the afternoon. i really wanted one. tonight, i dragged my family out to Zupa's. and i got me that Hawaiian Barbeque Chicken panini. i even creeped on Yohanna, i envy her yob.
the stomach is satisfied.

every time i go to Target i look at their record players.
one day.

new team. new dream.

isn't it just nice when movies have good music.
isn't it even better when yer the only person who can name a song from a movie.
The Last Song has got some gooood songs in it.
we got Ra Ra Riot, Iron & Wine, Feist and more.

owls, owls on notebooks.

Sam Beam, from Iron & Wine, is harry.
very harry.
and we thought the Band of Horses singer was harry.

one time my cousin's friend asked me who i was texting, i said Carrie.
he thought i said Harry.
i wish.

see how they fly like Lucy in the sky.

blue moon.

the blues:
not attending Vampire Weekend with Beach House on Sept. 2nd.
Impossible needs to stock up on colored polaroid film.
if i miss She & Him...
the heat is too much.
people are off to college. green monster.

this tune is in my head.

boo doop doop ba doop doo doo
ba doop doop ba doop doo doo
doo doo doo da doo doo doo da doo doo da doo doo doo
doo doo doo da doo doo dooooo daaaa
boo doop boop ba doop doo doo
boo doop boop ba dooop doop doop.

"cheese gromit. cheeeese."

sunday i'm in love:
red nails.
Wallace and Gromit.
new mechanical pencils.
hugs. i'm not usually a fan of hugs, but sometimes they are nice. and necessary.
curly cursive.
cookies. cookies at home, cookies at church.
when Gromit falls in love with Fluffy and they bust out the Puppy Love LP.
planning things.
writing for fun, writing to feel better.
hanging indents.

who wants a hunk of junk state ring. i want a gift card.

to little caesars.

apparently humans have glow in the dark lip neurons.
the only thing that is keeping me sane right now is the few people whom i love and lots of cookies.
can you die of anger, or from doing that stupid mad-cry that we all love?
dad keeps going on about those "virus weeds" in our gardens, they just keep growing back. i assume they've made a bunch of horcruxes. or something.
last two weeks...probably the worst of my life.
Inception for the 2nd time. even more brilliant.
i love high school soccer. no.

"i guess we could just like fold something."

pretty hair i am jealous of:
Bonnie Wright.
Zooey Deschanel.
Emma Watson.
Priscilla Ahn.
photos from google images and lastfm.

what a good looking lot:

picture one {source}
picture three {source}

"don't worry, i'll go easy on you."
"thanks Ronald."

did it.

In the wee hours of the night last night, i did one of the hardest things i have ever done.
I concurred Mt. Timpanogos.
ALL of it.

Crazy pants, i know.
If i were to go back in time to yesterday i wouldn't do it again....but i'm so glad i did.
Due to the fact that i have the body of a 60 year old i wont be able to walk for a few days.
And i can't say i didn't do the mad cry on the way down.
But i can say i got over my fear of relieving my bladder in the wild. (totally did off the top)
and that it was the craziest view i have ever seen.
Most definately worth it.

they'll name a city after us.

10. billion butterflies from watching this video. his favorite line is one of my favorites..."Robin is better than the girl of my dreams, she's real." yess. he is just a babe. "there is no love except for the love you feel for yourself."
9. plus four rotations at work.
8. little lurking ants.
7. times listening to Somewhere Over The Rainbow by Louis
6. colors on those shoes i want so badly. (joseph's shoes of many colors)
5. calls to/from Carrie. one actually connected.
4. glasses of chocolate milk.
3. "i love you dobe"'s from Megan Palmer.
2. episodes of Gilmore Girls.
1. long day.

awkward pictures: the summer edition

look at all those awkward dobes.

James McAvoy.

i've got a thing for him.
he's different, and sometimes strange.
but he plays a really good sad and in love character.
i think it's his eyes.
like in Penelope and Becoming Jane.
oddly attractive.

i can hardly stand this wait.
Mockingjay: please come faster.

pps. i love Peeta.

"california is a great big nation of one."

Sunday, i'm in love:
Louis Armstrong's voice. 2011 IKEA magazine: especially that wall on page ten. camping trips/48 hours of pure four-wheeler-ing love/family. blue-ray Pride & Prejudice. going to see Inception again this week. Quelqu'un m'a dit. team "Mighty Moose". turning on Gagi's old 60's tunes and her and Grandpa doing the jitterbug. Billie Holiday. the smell of home when you get back from a trip. jazzy music. Dad's in love with She & Him now. "Halle, if i ever see you light another match...well, that's a lot of time-outs." the three little munchkins snatching the box of matches: 34 matches lit. forest fire? thank heavens no. more dutch oven food than your mother ever did see. yes, the only reason i watched A River Runs Through It is because Joseph Gordon-Levitt The Beautiful was in it: for a whole five minutes. cloud watching with my two camping chaps:
oh they look so clean. two days later...brown as mud. best ever. camping at "hey! you're on THE THORNOCK property." this year: success. if you asked me to pull out a favorite memory and slip it into that shallow stone basin of a pensieve, this weekend would definitely be in the drawing.

"why don't we just sit and stare and do nothing. nothing at all for a while.
i like the way you smile."

i feel like i've been running and running and running all week long.

weekend camping trip: thank you.
i'm off to Sugar Town.
aka anywhere but here.

"i got some troubles but they won't last
i'm gonna lay right down here in the grass
and pretty soon all my troubles will pass
'cause i'm in shoo-shoo-shoo, shoo-shoo-shoo
shoo-shoo, shoo-shoo, shoo-shoo Sugar Town."

thank you for those words of comfort Nancy, daughter of Frank.

the wild and wily ways.

One day the classy people of the PG pool went on an adventure. (minus Dobe. she's still classy, she just has soccer)
A river floating trip if you will.

Clearly we were so ready...
So ready for what turned out as women vs wild.
tubes were popped.
rafts were made.
bathroom breaks were taken in harsh conditions.
satan rocks stabed at sid's tailbone.
underwater trees tried to eat clari.
blood gushed.
hearts were broken. (jk)
ALL without the help of the boys in speedos who let things get to the point of this....
one last cry for help.

she took the words right out of my mouth.

why. why are weddings so neat to us?
there's no stopping it.

i like these quotes:

"You're waiting for a train; a train that will take you far away. You know where you hope this train will take you, but you can't be sure. Yet it doesn't matter - because we'll be together." -Inception

"Either she's an evil, emotionless, miserable human being, or... she's a robot." -Tom, 500 Days of Summer

"Time is making fools of us again." -Albus Dumbledore

Tom: "Nobody loves Ringo Starr."
Summer: "That's what i love about him." -500 Days of Summer

"Robin is better than the girl of my dreams. She's real." - Paul, 500 Days of summer

"Dreams within dreams is too unstable!" -Inception   psych, try a dream within a dream within a dream within a dream. yes.

"No i sometimes dream about flying..." -Summer, 500 Days of Summer

Tom: "I've haven't seen you."
Autumn: "You must not have been looking..."
-500 Days of Summer

"We did it, we bashed them, wee Potter's the one, and Voldy's gone moldy, so now let's have fun." -Peeves the poltergeist

right now i feel like this:
just a little angry.

angry that my body won't move anymore due to overkill of conditioning/stadiums/conditioning/running/soccer tryouts. blegh.
at least i'll be in the best shape of my life.

look at that perfect bun.

i am quite jealous of anyone who has hair that can make a perfect bun.
like this girl.
anyone who has long and thick enough hair to create this work of art is luuucky.

if yer in the mood for a cute song,
A Beautiful Mess by Jason Mraz.
it'll melt your soul.
